She worked her way through her BA in forensic psychology from the City University of New York John Jay.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her administrative experience, she also worked as a caregiver for severe\/profoundly disabled adults for a bi-coastal non-profit organization. This was an invaluable experience for her. She learned the importance of humility, often stating that everyone needs to experience being humbled. Rita has always been fascinated by diversity, in terms of culture and ability. She\u2019s always enjoyed learning about people and what makes up their personality. From these different experiences, she\u2019s always held an affinity for the aging population. Many of her most meaningful relationships were with elderly family members and patients. Seeing the struggle aging patients would encounter in finding care for themselves left her deeply affected. Her experience in caregiving gave her a deeper understanding of their needs and the importance of peace of mind in entrusting a loved one with a stranger.
