1Heart Caregiver Services co-sponsored the 3rd Annual Adoptee Night with the LA Dodgers held at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles CA on Friday, May 22, 2015 in honor of National Foster Care Month.

 

IMG_1636-modWith its 4th Year hosting these signature sporting events, aims to raise awareness and funds for the adoption and foster care community in partnership with various major league sports teams including the MLB, MLS, WNBA and hopes to expand to the NFL and NBA soon. “We are very grateful for all of our community sponsors and partners who were able to support our event including 1Heart who has supported Mixed Roots Foundation since this past year.

Through their sponsorship and their big heart for the community, they were able to help us reach our goal of sending 1,000 adopted and foster youth to the game! We look forward to 1Heart’s continued support of our vision and mission of raising awareness and funds for the adoption and foster care community!” said Holly Choon Hyang Bachman, Founder & President, Mixed Roots Foundation.

IMG_1770-excerptIn addition to honoring National Foster Care Month, Allan Pineda Lindo better known as Apl.de.ap of the Grammy award-winning group The Black Eyed Peas, was able to throw out the first pitch and Mixed Roots Foundation’s Vice Chair, Glenn Bowie caught the ball. For those who didn’t know and why Apl was an ideal person to participate in this event is Apl himself was adopted at the age of 14 from the Philippines by retired attorney, Joe Ben Hudgens whom was also able to join Apl on the field for this very special event. It was a very inspiring moment for everyone to see both Apl and his adoptive father out on the field together.

IMG_1781As the members of the press conducted their interviews and provided photo and video coverage, 1Heart representative, Andrei Peralta was able to hand out 1 Heart baseball caps to the kids.  Andrei was very excited and humbled to meet the adoptees, foster youth and their families as well as all of the luminaries, co-sponsors and partners who were able to make this event possible. Together with the 1Heart team, he congratulated Holly and Glenn of Mixed Roots foundation on their very successful endeavor.
