Did you ever experience forgetting a name or perhaps losing your keys more often than usual? Are you feeling more tired every day? Then you should be aware that what you may be experiencing may be symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

disabled seniorMS is a serious type of disease that disengages communication between the brain and the body.

It is a disease that progresses over time so the kind of mental or physical condition you are experiencing now that you think may be mild and possibly harmless might get you incapacitated in the coming years.

Here are some possible signs to watch out for:

  • Blurred or hazy vision (often happens to one eye at a time)
  • Thinking Problems such as difficulties of finding the right words to say, difficulty concentrating
  • Clumsiness and loss of balance
  • “Pins and needles” sensation and feeling of numbness
  • Afternoon fatigue
  • Frequent urination caused by loss of bladder control (classified as secondary symptom)

It is uncertain as to what causes Multiple Sclerosis. It is a complex disease that varies on every individual affected by it which is the reason why the signs or symptoms are diverse.

Although some specialized treatments may be available such as medications for Alzheimer’s for improved memory and focus, etc., there is still no known complete cure for MS.

Early detection is perhaps the best way, for now, to help one cope better if diagnosed with the illness.
