Carol Newman – Staff of the Month – Los Angeles

We would like to welcome a new addition  to the 1Heart team of  caring  professionals.  Meet Carol Newman, our Staffing Coordinator who in the past couple months of working hand in hand with our Client Care Managers, has effectively resolved schedule changes and  matched caregivers with our clients.  Having worked as a Caregiver herself for some time has given her the insight and compassion to make sure that her goal is achieved each day – to place the right caregiver who meets the needs of our Care Recipient.

From the very start, Carol’s work experiences have been about administering care to people across different ages and  backgrounds. First, she was a faculty    member for 5 years at the Lyceum of the Philippines. Then she was an ESL teacher for another 5 years at the International  Catholic Migration Commission teaching Indo-Chinese refugees seeking US  resettlement. Having had training in Montessori education, she was a member of the Board of Trustees, the Directress and, at the same time, a Pre-school teacher at the JMJ Montessori School in the Philippines for 20 years.

As Staffing Coordinator at 1Heart, she finds much joy in making sure that the appropriate staff is available for each work shift. She guarantees a seamless workflow at 1Heart.

Private time means two sons, aged 22 and 25. They seem to have followed in her footsteps, but this time, by studying to be nurses to care for the weak and the sick.
